An Intro To The History Of Astrology

The Babylonians are sometimes recognized to have originated the practice and science of astrology. Their astrological charts enabled them to forecast the recurrence of seasons and certain astronomical events. So, in the start and for over two thousand years, astrology and astronomy were the same science.

Babylonian astrology was introduced to the Greeks early in the fourth century BCE and, thru the studies of Plato, Aristotle, and others, astrology came to be highly rated as a science. It was shortly welcomed by the Romans ( the Roman names for the zodiacal indications are still used today ) and the Arabs and later spread through the world.

While earliest astrology was employed to bring a feeling of order out of clear chaos, it was shortly employed to forecast weather patterns, primarily for rural purposes. It was ultimately dilated to include forecasts of natural catastrophes, war and other events in the inspiring the human state. Once greatness in these fields was established, it absolutely was a natural evolution for astrology to be used as a means for advising for kings and emperors and, in time, the population at large.

The Zodiac ( which springs from the Greek word meaning circle of animals ) is thought to have developed in traditional Egypt and later adopted by the Babylonians. Early astrologers knew it took 12 lunar cycles ( i.e, months ) for the sun to revisit its original position.

Round the year 2k BCE, Babylonian astrologers assumed the sun, moon, and the 5 planets known at that point ( Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, and Venus ) possessed distinct powers. Mars, for instance, seemed to be red and was related to aggression and war. Even if you are not a follower the position of the planets at the precise time of your birth is an indicator of your personality and can identify events that happen to your thru your lifetime, you have actually met someone that does believe. At the least, it’s safe club conversation, a technique to start to know somebody. Or did they actually predict the course of events in your life. While in modern times astrology is seen as new age and not as convincing as sciences like astrophysics or chemistry, at a previous time, it was as credible a science as any other.

Astrology enjoyed a rebirth in the 1930’s with the birth of Britain’s Princess Margaret. The London Sunday-Express ran her astrological profile, and that event was the origin of the modern daily horoscope in the papers. Everybody who’s read a fairly good astrological profile of himself has to confess there are some bizarre coincidences. Are we able to really pretend we’re so informed of the universe that we are able to reject the discipline of astrology? In any case read some Free Astrology to find out.

Second-sighted Trance Segment 1

In the preceding two articles, I have asked you to be concerned about the first two methods of inducing the clairvoyant phenomena, spiritual growth namely, Psychometry, and Crystal-Gazing, respectively. In these cases you have seen how the clairvoyant gets en rapport with the astral plane by means of physical objects, in the case of psychometric clairvoyance; or by means of a shining object, in the case of crystal gazing. Let us now think about the third method of inducing the clairvoyant condition or state, i.e., by means of what may be called Clairvoyant Reverie, in which the clairvoyant gets en rapport with the astral plane by means of psychic states in which the sights, sounds and thoughts of the material and physical plane are shut out of consciousness.

The student of the general topic of clairvoyance will soon be impressed with two facts concerning the production of clairvoyant phenomena, namely, (1) that in the majority of the recorded cases of the investigators the clairvoyant phenomena were obtained as the clairvoyant was in the state of sleep, or at least semi-sleep or drowsiness, the visioning appearing more or less like a vivid dream; and (2) that in the case of the clairvoyant voluntarily entering en rapport with the astral plane, he or she would enter into what seemed to be a kind of trance condition, in a number of cases an absolute unconsciousness of the outside world being manifested. The student, noting these facts, is apt to arrive at the conclusion that all clairvoyance is accompanied by the condition of sleep, or trance, and that no clairvoyant phenomena are possible unless this psychic condition is first obtained. But this is only a half-truth while we shall see in a moment.

In the first place, the student arriving at this conclusion seems to have ignored the fact that the phenomena of psychometry and crystal gazing, respectively, are when true instances of clairvoyance as are those which are manifested in the sleep or trance condition. It is true that a number of psychometrists produce phenomena as they are in a state of psychic quiescence, but, on the other hand, many clairvoyant psychometrists merely concentrate the attention on the object before them, and remain perfectly wide-awake and conscious on the physical plane. Likewise, the average crystal gazer remains perfectly wide-awake and conscious on the physical plane. As the student takes these facts into consideration, he begins to see that the trance condition, and similar psychic states, are straightforwardly a few methods of inducing the en rapport condition for the clairvoyant, and are not inseparably bound up with the phenomena of spiritual development clairvoyance.

As the student progresses, moreover, he will perceive that even in the case of Clairvoyant Reverie, the third method of inducing the astral en rapport condition, the clairvoyant does not always lose consciousness. In the case of many advanced and exceptionally well-developed clairvoyants, no trance or sleep condition is induced. In such cases the clairvoyant merely “shuts out” the outside world of sights, sounds and thoughts, by an effort of trained will, and then concentrates steadily on the phenomena of the astral plane. For that matter, the skilled and advanced occultist is able to function on the astral plane by straightforwardly shifting his consciousness from one plane to another, while the typist shifts from the diminutive letters of the keyboard to the capital letters, by a mere pressure on the shift-key of the typewriter.

Audio Astrology Readings Tips For The Study Of The Stars

Astrology Readings Teaches that you must know, every Sign contain in longitude thirty degrees, and every degree sixty minutes. The beginning is from Aries, and so in order one Sign after another: so the whole Zodiac contains 360 degrees, the second degree of Taurus is the two and thirtieth degree of the Zodiac, the tenth of Taurus is the fortieth, and so in order all throughout the twelve signe; yet you must ever account the Aspects from the degree of the Zodiac wherein the Planet is, as if Saturn be in ten degrees of Gemini, and I would know to what degree of the Ecliptic he castes his sinister Sextile Aspect; reckoning from Aries to the 10th degree of Gemini, I find Saturn to be in the 70th degree of the Zodiac, according to his longitude; if we add 60 degrees more to 70, they make 130, which answers to the 10th degree of the Sign Leo, to which Saturn castes his Sextile Apsect, or to any Planet in that degree.

When two Planets are equally distant one from each other, 60 degrees, we say they are in Sextile Apsect.

When two Planets are 90 degrees distant one from another, we call that Aspect a Square Aspect.

When two Planets are 120 degrees distant, we say they are in Trine Aspect.

When two Planets are 180 degrees distant, we call that Aspect Opposition.

When two planets are in one and the same degree and minute of any sign, we say they are in Conjunction.

So then if you find Saturn in the 1st degree of Aries, and Moon or any other Planet in the 1st degree of Gemini, you shall say they are in a Sextile Aspect, for they are distant one from another 60 degrees, and this Aspect is indifferent good.

If Saturn or any other Planet be in the 1st degree of Aries, and another Planet in the 1st degree of Cancer, you must say they are in a Square Aspect, because there is 90 degrees of the Zodiac betwixt them: this Aspect is of enmity and isn’t good.

If Saturn be in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet in the1st degree of Leo, there being now the distance of 120 degrees, they behold each other with a Trine Aspect; and this doth denote Unity, Concord and Friendship.

If you find Saturn in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet In the 1st degree of Libra, they being now 180 degrees each from other, are said to be in Opposition: A bad Aspect: and you must be mindfull to know what sign are opposite each to other, for without it you cannot erect the Figure of a Astrological Chart.

When Saturn is in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet is in the same degree, they are then said to be in Conjunction: And this Aspect is good or ill, according to the nature of the question demanded.

Learning About Horoscopes – Free Information From Immediate Psychic Readings

Before beginning to learn horoscope readings , it’s best to have a clear understanding of the Solar System. This understanding can be obtained without going into all the elaborate details that Astronomy is concerned with. An Astrology Readings, require only a general understanding of Astronomy’s broad outlines are therefore all that is required, and without being proficient in mathematics, anyone with an menial level of education may learn quite simply all that I have to say on this subject.

The science which is Astronomy gives knowledge of the celestial objects, the motions, distances, magnitudes, weight, size, order and so on. Astronomy also takes us beyond the solar system, deep in to space, amongst the fixed stars, which are the central Sun’s of other solar systems throughout the neighbouring galaxies.

The Universe has an unlimited amount of these solar systems, of varying sizes – some larger and some smaller than our own. When we realise this, our minds expand, our vision becomes clearer and our hearts can fill with wonder and reverence for that unknowable and great supreme power that is the primary cause of all glory that fills the all of space. However, no amount of guesswork concerning other solar systems can reveal the true state of affairs in the broad expanse of the heavens. Therefore, it becomes more profitable to confine our attention, for the time being, to the solar system of which we form a part, leaving the study of fixed stars with their immense magnitudes and distances out of our present considerations.

If we were to draw a circle, and in it’s centre place a single point, we would have a representation of ourselves in relation to space. Using our imagination to further expand this idea to think of the Sun as being in the centre of and enormous circle, extending many millions of kilometres into space, then we may comprehend and understand what the circumference of the solar system means. It will do you well to ponder over this amazing and wonderful system. In the past, the Sun was recognised as the home and source of the primal energy from which all light and life comes. It being in fact the centre or, as we would term it for practical purposes, the body of the Logos of the solar system. From this glorious body, radiates the light which illuminates the whole, and there can be no grander concept of God than this idea of One who sustains the whole of His universe by His manifestation, the Sun: “In him we live, move, and have our being”.

All bigoted conceptions of religion must fade into insignificance as we realise that the Sun is the life and light of ourselves, and of the complete system.

Learn Astrology Online Free – Your Free Astrology Lesson

www.FreeAstrologyTips.com blog is going to cover different topics from the sphere of astrology here.

We will start with some general information about astrology basics and how it all originated – this knowledge will help you to see the roots and make your own competent decisions.

Then we will pass to the more peculiar knowledge like different astrological systems and school, how to understand the details of astrology, how to create and read horoscopes.

We will raise controversial topics, that is why don’t be surprised as it is our aim to give you different points of view on this issue. And only YOU will make the choice.

Ok, let’s start with some basics…

The zodiac signs have long been used to try to foresee a future of some event and to make determinations of character. Due to this we can say it in simple words that astrology is studying the constellations, stars and planets to determine how they impact a person’s life or events.

Each of the zodiacs is represented by a certain mythological figure. For example, Taurus is represented by the Bull, Leo is the Lion, Libra is the Scales, etc. Each of the zodiac signs has its own strong and weak points – they help to describe a person’s character and its different aspects.

Today there are lots of different types of the zodiac system: the Western, the Indian and the Chinese. These are not all, by perhaps the most widely spread ones.

To trust or not to trust…

Usually the failed predictions are explained by the misunderstandings in the interpretation of the astrological info or false information used. The failure of predictions usually can happen due to:

As you can see there are plenty of factors that make astrology doubtful. Still it is being used for millennia and used quite successfully.

We will get into more details why and how it works in other posts on the blog.
